Education in Focus – Coolest Projects Romania 2017!

afis coolest 2Banat IT is highly positioning programming education in its list of priorities. The way this translates in practice is definitely dominated by supporting the functioning of CoderDojo Romania Network.

In this respect, Banat IT is involved in organizing and running this May 13th, between 2 and 6 PM, at Iulius Mall Timișoara, Coolest Projects Romania, designed as an intermediary stage evaluation and exposure towards community event featuring projects developed by individual participants to CoderDojo activities or teams of ninjas.

With the participation of juries formed by local tech industry professionals, who are not involved in CoderDojo mentoring activities, the best projects out of the 100+ registered will be identified and rewarded from the following categories: Scratch, Websites, Game Development, Mobile Apps, Hardware, Design/Digital Art, Evolution (complex projects) and Algorithmics.

The winning project in each of the 8 categories will be awarded with a travel bursary to facilitate its creators’ participation to the Coolests Projects Awards event, organized by the global CoderDojo Foundation, June 17th, in Dublin.

CoderDojo Romania is a national network of 30+ clubs regularly creating free of cost programming education contexts for kids aged 7 to 17 years, in an informal, inclusive and open approach, addressing in the same time the social competences of the participants.

Banat IT continuously supports the functioning and expansion of the CoderDojo Romania network by supporting local initiative groups in setting new venues, by providing a fundraising, promotion, legal and fiscal platform, by integrating CoderDojo ninjas and mentors in local and international tech and entrepreneurship ecosystems’ activities.
