Banat IT and Timisoara Startup Hub are constantly working to connect the tech entrepreneurial ecosystems across the Hungarian-Romanian-Serbian borders in the region. In this respect we are organizing with our partners, bilateral participation to meetup events, events exposing interesting startups, technologies and initiatives.
This November 11th, we’ll host in Timisoara Startup Hub an interesting event, the KATANA Info Day.
KATANA is a Business Accelerator funded by the European Commission within a project run by an international consortium including Banat IT & Timisoara Startup Hub partners Vojvodina ICT Cluster and BioSense, both from Novi Sad. KATANA is offering equity-free funding and business support services to European startups and SME cross-border/cross-sectoral consortia interested to develop innovative ICT-backed solutions for the agrifood of tomorrow.
KATANA will distribute in an innovative way a total 1.2 million euros to European startups and SMEs and empower acceleration of new cutting edge technologies in agribusiness.
KATANA will publish on 1st of December 2016 a first Open Call, offering startups and SMEs (including “-to-be”s), the opportunity to present who they are and how they think future agrifood solutions (in 2-minutes video pitches). Following a community-driven peer-to-peer evaluation, the best 100 teams will be invited (and financially supported with 2K EUR each) to attend a bootcamp in Stuttgart. During the bootcamp, teams are expected to create consortia that will prepare and run crowdfunding campaigns. The 10 best SME consortia evaluated from their crowdfunding performance will win additional 100K € of direct funding each from KATANA.
KATANA project team, together with Timisoara Startup Hub and Banat IT Association, invites individuals, startups and SMEs to attend the Info Day in Timisoara. Participants will find out how they can join KATANA’s activities and learn how KATANA offers support services to those teams considered by the relevant players in the market as having the most potential for future commercialization.
