Timișoara High-school Kids in Tech Companies

afiOne week a year the school can be different for all the students in the Romanian pre-university education, including for ”kids in tech”, the teenagers enrolled in the relatively numerous ”mate-info” classes. Within ”Săptămâna Școala Altfel”, April 18-22, Banat IT Association and Timișoara Startup Hub, with the involvement of 12 small and medium enterprises have build a special opportunity for kids studying in the Mathematics-Informatics specialization in 5 of the best Timișoara high-schools (Colegiul Național ”Ana Aslan”, Colegiul Național Bănățean, Colegiul Național ”CD Loga”, Liceul de Informatică ”Grigore Moisil”, Liceul Pedagogic ”Carmen Sylva”) to discover the startup and SME segment of the local IT industry. The project, named Timișoara Startup Kids on Tech Trails, will assure to participating students an early exposure to the activities of companies like 123ContactForm3Pillar Global, Audionow Digital, Avaelgo, BitdefenderCloudbase Solutions, Digital Geek, [e-spres-oh], Movidius, Ness TechnologiesOPSWATSafefleet TelematicsSymme3D Manufacturing, or UnifiedPost. Interacting with entrepreneurs and employees, participating kids will be offer the best opportunities to learn about tech, technologies used, products and services developed in Timisoara, to explore the professional field connected with IT and to establish an early insertion point into the local tech ecosystem. Participating kids will be encouraged to reflect on and to share thoughts about their experience through their usual social media channels. The most popular social media products will be rewarded. The project will end on Friday April 22nd through a Timișoara Startup Kids conference co-organized with OSUT, Timișoara West University Students’ Organization, featuring local young tech entrepreneurs and freelancers like Irina Marinescu (Save Potatoes), Andrei Avram (Transylvania High Tech) and Andrei Mărin (Dream Production).
