All that short duration tech entrepreneurship events you are used to participate are nice, but what about one that will offer you the major differentiation of having a 10 weeks follow-up aiming to help you transform an innovative idea in an elaborated and ready to be pitched tech product/service through interaction with mentors and peers?

Tech Lounge and Banat IT Associations are launching the Timişoara implementation of Innovation Labs 2016 by organizing a 27 hours hackathon, scheduled for this weekend, March 12-13 and hosted by Timișoara Startup Hub.

 The Innovation Lab program, will include further activities

 – a pre-acceleration program with a duration of 8 weeks (March-May) opened to best 6-8 of the projects developed in the hackathon that will benefit of mentor support offered by local, national and foreign experts and proven practitioners in the field of tech entrepreneurship

 – a local demo-day event (mid May) and

 – a national demo-day (May 24th, București), with the participation of the best projects selected in from those involved in the Timișoara, București, Cluj-Napoca and Sibiu implementations.

The big plus brought by the Innovation Labs approach compared with the regular hackathon or Startup Weekend events, organized previously by Banat IT or Timișoara Startup Hub is represened by the 10 follow-up weeks, that will advance an innovative idea through interactions with the mentors and peers, iteratively developed both technically and from the business model perspective, and transformed into an viable and comprehensible prototype, ready to be pitched to potential investors.

Agriculture, Cyber-Security, Health & Lifestyle, respectively Retail are the main domains that we are encouraging teams to place their ideas for the Innovation Labs 2016, without excluding other verticals and fields.

Innovation Labs 2016 is a program organized by Tech Lounge, Simplon, Fundația Comunitară Sibiu and Banat IT with the support offered by Orange, Carrefour, The Romanian-American Foundation and the involvement of their partners Microsoft, IXIA, Bloomberg, Intel Software, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Cisco Romania, Cyberint, Asociaţia Patronală a Industriei de Software şi Servicii (ANIS) together with academic partners from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu and Timişoara!
