HackTM, the flagship event of Banat IT Association and Timișoara Startup Hub, advanced to its 3rd edition. The biggest hackthon in South Eastern Europe will take place in Timișoara in the weekend of May 20-22.
Definitely a wide community event, HackTM grew in size, in complexity and, for sure, in quality. We are looking forward to welcome 512 participants (from 6-7 countries), to develop their ideas over a 50 hours programming maraton, within the 8 track competition covering Education, eHealth, Fintech, GameDev, IoT, Robots, Smart City, and Other.
HackTM 2016 includes not only the hacking component but it will start with a brand new HackTalks one day long technology conference. HackTalks will feature speakers from the event partner companies like Matias Langer (Irian), Ivan Ivanov of (Facebook), Tibor Bakota of (Szeged IT Cluster), but also Romanian and foreign, highly reputed experts in the fields of education and smart cities, like Fred Garnett of London Knowledge Lab, Carlo Giovanella, of Universita di Roma, or David Evans of JMEA Associates. The last three in the above enumeration are key participants to the 1st International Conference on Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Development, co-organized in a joint context with HackTM by Politehnica University of Timisoara and ASLERD.
The 1st International Conference on Smart Learning Ecosystems and Regional Development intends to establish itself as an interdisciplinary forum where scholars, entrepreneurs and policy makers will bring and compare visions, researches and experiences on how the “smartness” of the learning ecosystems (schools, campus, enterprises , informal learning contexts, etc.), sustained by various technologies, will influence the economical development, foster the social innovation and educate aware and active citizens.
