The beginning of each year finds us amidst a time of dreaming big, formulating personal resolutions, listing commitments and tactics to achieve our promises. We then have 36x days to really work on it or… to forget about it! 🙂

If one of your goals for 2017 is to be more involved in the community, you don’t need to look too far. You can join us support educational causes, like this opportunity here waiting for you to check:

Banat IT launches a fundraising campaign for helping one more Timișoara high school kids team to attend the global finals of Zero Robotics.teamZR

Zero Robotics is a programming competition developed by MIT, NASA & ESA, where participating teams are building code to control SPHERES (Synchronized Position Hold Engage and Reorient Experimental Satellites) micro-robots located high above, inside the International Space Station. Zero Robotics Finals will take place on January 27th as a distributed event with individual venues in Amsterdam, Boston, Sydney.

The team we are inviting you to support, Cassiopeia,  from Liceul Teoretic ”Grigore Moisil”, includes Miruna Grigoraș, Cristina Cordun, Daniel Drondu, Sebastian MaleșEmanuel Covaci and is coordinated by professor Mircea Lupșe-Turpan. They just advanced through qualification process and needs community’s support to attend the finals from the European Zero Robotics center in Amsterdam.

They will join the previously qualified heRObotics team, with members from Liceul Pedagogic ”Carmen Sylva”, Colegiul Național ”CD Loga”, Liceul Teoretic Jean Louis Calderon. Coordinated by professor Nușa Cojocaru heRObotics will attend the finals in the Boston (USA) venue. Their costs exceeding USD6500 are covered by BRD-Group Societe Generale.

This initiative comes in line with Banat IT’s massive involvement in early programming education  through coordination of CoderDojo concept promotion and implementations in Timișoara Metropolitan Area and beyond. Four out of the nine Timișoara Zero Robotics teams’ members are CoderDojo ninjas with substantial achievements in national or international programming competitions!

You may contribute any amount, as an individual or as a company, in order to cover part of the 3000 EUR for this endeavor. Find here Banat IT’s banking details. Please include a ”Zero Robotics donation” mention!

Thanks for helping us sparking these kids’ journey towards a higher professional performance!
