After a relaxed summer, early autumn high spirits are on display when it’s about the activism within Timisoara tech entrepreneurial ecosystem.
This week of September 22-27, you may reward the dedication of our awesome tech community leaders and spend smart hours attending various tech meetups, open your mind towards complementary business topics or mentor the younger (still future) programmers entering the ball-room at CoderDojos in Timisoara or Dumbravita.

Timisoara is developing at a fast pace when it comes to its IT industry. As expected, there are names in the local community that have bigger echo than others. Movidius was not known by the local community apart from a small group of geeks interested in mobile multimedia. Maybe you haven’t heard of Movidius too much until recently. The reason? They are doers. And that takes focus and energy.
Nonetheless, what they do speaks for themselves. Their company has been selected by Google to work on the vision processor for their latest experimental smartphone platform, Google Tango Project. Heralding the Myriad 1 processor at the beginning of 2014, they have continuously improved the technology. Thus, in July Movidius released the Myriad 2 processor, which can boast with 20 times more processing efficiency. And they keep on improving. Read more
Code Week is an EU initiative started to support coding awareness among citizens of any age. It’s a week dedicated to organizing events that showcase and promote coding as a worth learning activity and a good personal knowledge asset for both present and the future.
At its second edition, this year’s Code Week happens between 11 and 17 October, all over Europe. It’s an initiative started at top European level, but designed by practitioners in the Youth Advisers group conveyed by Neelie Kroes, vice-president of European Commission and benefiting of the involvement of the Grand Coalition for Digital Jobs, an initiative including major technology companies interesting in facing the close to 1 million IT jobs vacancies to affect European economies by 2020.
Within the Code Week, thousands of events will take place aiming to help spread the word about coding, to make as many people, young and mature, women and men aware and interested in coding. Read more
